Customer Prep Checklists

• Identify where you want the doorbell or cameras mounted
• Make sure there’s a strong Wi-Fi signal in those areas (test with your phone)
• Charge batteries (if applicable)
• Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready
• Download the appropriate app (Ring, Arlo, Nest, etc.) and have login info ready
• Clear the area of debris; unlock gates if needed for outdoor cameras

• Locate your existing thermostat
• Confirm that your HVAC system is compatible with smart thermostats
• Have your Wi-Fi name/password and app login info ready
• Make sure the thermostat area is clear of obstructions

• Decide on wall placement and viewing height before the appointment
• Have your TV, mount, and cables ready
• Clear the area (move furniture, secure pets)
• Inform us of the wall type (drywall, brick, plaster, etc.)

• Select where you want speakers mounted or placed
• Have your speakers, mounting hardware, and cords available
• Provide your Wi-Fi password and app login (Sonos, Alexa, etc.)
• Share any account info for linked services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)

• Unbox and inspect items to be mounted (shelves, desks, etc.)
• Choose final placement and height beforehand
• Clear the wall and surrounding area
• Let us know your wall type (drywall, brick, etc.)
• Provide any hardware that came with your items

• Clear space around your garage opener and walls
• Ensure there’s a power outlet for smart devices (e.g., MyQ)
• Have your garage remote ready for setup
• Let us know the brand/model of your opener
• Unbox racks, hooks, or storage systems prior to install

• Decide which lights you want installed (bulbs, switches, floodlights, or LED strips)
• Unbox and inspect smart lighting products beforehand
• Confirm your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the install areas
• Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready
• Download the lighting brand’s app (e.g., Philips Hue, Govee, LIFX) and log in or create an account
• Let us know if you’re replacing existing light switches or using plug-in/outdoor options
• Ensure access to the light fixtures or areas where new lights will be placed
• Inform us of any smart home integrations (e.g., Alexa, Google Home) you’d like set up

• Be prepared to explain the issue or what needs improvement
• Ensure devices are powered on and connected
• Have login info ready for devices or apps
• Clear physical access to the devices we’ll be working on

• Confirm access to installation areas during business hours
• Decide on device placements ahead of time 
• Provide Wi-Fi and app login details if setup is needed
• Let us know of any building access rules or approval requirements

• Identify the areas you want covered (front door, driveway, backyard, etc.)
• Make sure you have Wi-Fi signal in those spots (use your phone to test signal strength)
• Ensure there’s a clear mounting surface (wall, ceiling, soffit, etc.)

• For plug-in cameras: Make sure there’s an outlet nearby, or let us know if an extension cord will be needed
• For battery cameras: Make sure batteries are charged (if already owned)
• For hardwired models: Let us know if existing wires are present or if you plan to have an electrician run them

• Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready
• If your camera uses an app (Ring, Arlo, Nest, Blink, etc.), have your:
  
  
  • Phone unlocked
  • App downloaded
  • Account created or login info ready

• For outdoor cameras, please clear away snow, branches, or debris
• Unlock gates or provide access to any fenced-in areas
• Make sure any pets are secured

• If you have mounting brackets, chimes, or hubs included with your system, have them ready
• If you’re purchasing cameras through us, we’ll bring everything needed
